Shobha Pokharkar
Home cook · Laddoo artisan · Malad, Mumbai
Every laddoo that leaves this kitchen is made by hand — the same way my mother made them, and her mother before her. No assembly line, no factory, no shortcuts. Just a small kitchen in Malad, decades of practice, and a deep belief that food made with care tastes different.

Shobha Chi Rasoi began the way most good things do — out of necessity and love. Friends and family had been asking Shobha to make laddoos for festivals, weddings, and birthdays for years. The question was always the same: "Can you make a batch for us?"
What began as festival orders for the neighbourhood in Malad East grew into something more intentional. Shobha decided to formalise what she had always done — make authentic Maharashtrian sweets with the best ingredients she could source, for anyone who wanted them.
The business is registered under Shobha Ventures and holds an active FSSAI licence — because food safety is not optional, and customers deserve the confidence of knowing their food comes from a properly licensed kitchen.
What we believe
- Real ingredients only. Jaggery from Maharashtra, whole dates, dinkache (wheat germ), fresh til, besan from local suppliers. No refined sugar in our laddoos — ever.
- No preservatives, no fillers. We do not use maltodextrin, artificial colours, or flavour enhancers. The shelf life is short because the ingredients are real.
- Made to order. We bake in small batches so nothing sits. Your order is made after you place it — not pulled from a shelf.
- Honest about what we sell. We will always tell you the GI, the ingredients, and the shelf life — even if the honest answer is "this is a treat, not a health food."
